EMS dragon team raises grand total for heart charity
EMS’ dragon boat team braved lashing rain to raise £1,000 for its client the British Heart Foundation.
The company, which specialises in marketing roadshows, launched a hardy team of 20 employees at the annual Chester Charity Dragon Boat Festival on June 13.
The EMS team took to the River Dee in Chester in a colourful Chinese-style longboat, against more than twenty five other teams, all intent on being crowned 2010 Dragon Boat Champions.
EMS selected the British Heart Foundation as its designated charity as it works with the organisation on a variety of awareness roadshows and marketing campaigns.
Keith Austin at EMS said: “The EMS team had a lot of fun taking part again this year and although the weather took a turn for the worse in our last race, it didn’t put family and friends off - they all braved the elements and came along in support. Unfortunately we didn’t make the final, but we came 16th out of 27 teams and raised a fantastic amount for the British Heart Foundation - and we’ll be back next year!”

We have a great working relationship with the company, and it’s inspiring to see that its employees are prepared to give up their spare time, and to get soaking wet, to help us raise funds!”
