As part of EMS Healthcare's commitment to off-setting its carbon footprint, staff from across the business swapped their work shoes for their wellies to support a wildlife charity this week.

The team volunteered to work on one of Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s latest projects - helping to build new fences to protect a nature reserve near to its offices in Ellesmere Port.

Having already achieved the rigorous ISO 14001 environmental management standard, this initiative is just one of the projects off-setting EMS’ carbon footprint for 2009 - the company has also provided funding for a local tree planting scheme.

Keith Austin, CEO at EMS Healthcare, comments: “We are continuing to develop and improve our environmental performance and are committed to off-setting our own carbon emissions, as well as those of our clients.

“The enthusiasm and motivation of our team in helping to achieve this has been excellent – and we’ve been able to support a number of local environmental initiatives during the course of the year.”
