EMS Healthcare has been recognised at the annual Merseyside Innovation Awards (MIA), winning the esteemed ‘Prestige Award’ during a gala ceremony at Liverpool Crowne Plaza Hotel.
MIA recognises the innovative work of businesses across the Merseyside region, and the Prestige Award is reserved for larger businesses with a turnover of £1 million to £25 million. EMS Healthcare was commended for its support of NHS sustainability initiatives, the development of new mobile medical units that serve growing demands on health services, and the benefits to the local economy following the company’s recent investments relating to real estate and technology.
After accepting the award from Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram, EMS Healthcare CFO, David Legg, commented: “To be named one of the region’s most innovative businesses is a real testament to the passion seen across the company for providing practical solutions to the modern pressures faced by healthcare providers.
“We are all acutely aware of sweeping budget cuts to the NHS, but there are also capacity pressures, an aging population, and an increased number of cancer sufferers and people with chronic conditions. Our mobile medical units provide practical solutions to relieve the strains that come as a result, so being recognised for that, as well as our economical contributions to the Merseyside region, is an exceptionally proud moment for the entire team.”
