Increasing Macular Capacity at Denmark Hill and Orpington Hospitals

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust required additional capacity within their ophthalmology department to help tackle the post-COVID backlog.

EMS Healthcare provided the trust with two Liberty+ mobile macular units, which were deployed at their hospitals in Orpington and Denmark Hill. They were able to increase capacity within the Trust by up to 60 appointments per day.

Amit Jogia Ophthalmic Technician: “EMS Healthcare provided the ideal solution to increase capacity at the Trust, by deploying two mobile macular units at our Orpington and Denmark Hill hospitals. The staff have really enjoyed working onboard the mobile units, as they are bright, modern and welcoming. This positivity has been echoed by patients, who have been seen quicker as a result of the increased capacity. EMS Healthcare have been a great support to us, with their professionalism and experience, they made the process easy from day one.”
