Wandsworth patients benefit from mobile health centre
A new state-of-the art mobile surgery has been opened in Wandsworth, South London, to provide temporary accommodation for GP services during the construction of a new permanent health centre by leading independent care provider Care UK.

The eye-catching mobile unit - designed by specialist supplier EMS Healthcare - provides over 90 square metres of floor space, and houses three GP consulting rooms and a treatment room for minor surgery. It provides a comprehensive, self-contained healthcare facility that can be installed on site in just three hours.
The mobile unit at the Junction Health Centre will be on site for seven months and will serve the community from 8am - 8pm, seven days a week.
EMS Healthcare's Chief Executive Officer Keith Austin, said: “This unit is a perfect solution while Care UK build the much anticipated new health centre for people Clinimed Article in Clapham Junction. It has enabled them to provide healthcare services right where they need it - straight away.
“As well as providing high-quality, flexible accommodation, the unit will also operate independently without having to rely on mains support for power or waste. This is a major advantage over other forms of temporary accommodation.”
He added: “The primary healthcare sector is undertaking a great deal of new construction at the moment and our units meet the NHS’s need for cost-effective, high-quality temporary solutions that can be deployed extremely rapidly.
The Liberty Plus units are the largest mobile healthcare facilities offered by EMS.
They are created by seamlessly linking together three vehicles, and have been built to strict NHS infection control and hygiene standards. They include a spacious reception, private staff area, disabled access, toilet facilities, air conditioning, CCTV / intruder alarm and self-contained power supply.
The Liberty Plus units are suitable for a wide range of occupational health uses - from a GP or dental surgery to private health screening, testing and immunisation.
