EMS Healthcare is proud to be the first-ever recipient of the award, which was newly introduced in 2025 to recognise organisations that place environmental responsibility at the heart of their clinical research operations.
The award highlights sites that have prioritised sustainable practices. By taking bold action to reduce their ecological footprint, these organisations are setting a powerful example of what sustainable clinical trials can achieve.
Having been proudly carbon neutral since 2021, EMS Healthcare is on track to achieve net zero by 2045. By embedding sustainable practices across energy use, waste management, transport, operations, and staff culture, the organisation is demonstrating that clinical research can benefit both people and the planet.
Dr Clare Grace, CEO, EMS Healthcare said:
“We are delighted to win SCRS Site Solutions Summit's Environmental Sustainability Impact Award. At EMS Healthcare, we believe life-changing clinical research must go hand-in-hand with protecting our planet.
"This recognition reflects the commitment of our team, who have embedded sustainability across our operations. From renewable energy and waste reduction to greener transport and community engagement - proving that sustainable clinical research is not only possible, but essential to create a future where good health is within everyone's reach.”
This accolade highlights EMS Healthcare’s ongoing dedication to embedding sustainable practices into every aspect of clinical research, setting a benchmark for environmentally responsible operations across the industry.
