This International Women's Day, we are reflecting as a business on how far we have come to embrace equity and enable women to access the resources needed to achieve equal outcomes.
The theme for 2023 is #EmbraceEquity to encourage discussions about why having equal opportunities aren't enough. Equity means creating an inclusive world so that everyone can truly thrive and belong.
53% of our employees at EMS Healthcare are women. 50% of our managers are women. 45% of our executive team are women. 25% of our board team are women.
As a company, we are committed to doing more. Here are the steps we've taken over the past 12 months:
- We launched our first ever Colleague Committee, whilst also appointing a designated Diversity, Equality and Inclusion champion
- We've enhanced maternity and paternity pay
- Launched a management programmed for new and experienced managers
- Have flexible working hours of up to full time for all office-based roles
We're proud of where we are, but there are still improvements to be made. Together we can collectively works towards a society where women can thrive, not just for one day, but every day.
